Football parking is free in Lots 20 and 28 and the Theater, Stadium and Prospect garages, first come, first served. Lots open 3 hours before kickoff; no tailgating in the garages. Stadium bags can be no bigger than a backpack.

Getting around

Trains, buses & parking

The Dinky runs 7 days a week between Princeton Station (152 Alexander St) and Princeton Junction in about 5 minutes, timed to meet NJ Transit trains to New York. For Philadelphia, ride to Trenton and change to SEPTA.

Free buses: the town's Princeton Loop (Mon–Sat; the Express runs every 20 minutes between the Dinky station and Princeton Shopping Center) and the university's TigerTransit, which anyone can ride. Track both in the TripShot app.

Parking: downtown meters run Mon–Thu 9am–8pm, Fri–Sat 9am–9pm and Sun 1–8pm; pay with the Park Princeton app. The Spring Street Garage is free for the first 30 minutes, then $2 an hour.

Know before you go

Princeton Farmers Market

Thursdays 10am to 3pm at Hinds Plaza, 55 Witherspoon Street, next to the library. Park in the Spring Street Garage next door.

The canal towpath & Lake Carnegie

The D&R Canal towpath runs about 6 miles along Princeton, from Quaker Road to Kingston, with Lake Carnegie (and rowing crews) between Kingston and Alexander Street. Canoes and kayaks rent across from Turning Basin Park on Alexander Street. Muddy after rain.

Princeton Battlefield State Park

Clarke House (1772), the colonnade and the battlefield, a short bike ride from town along Mercer Road or through the Institute Woods. Parking off Mercer Road. History walking tours leave the Battle Monument on Sundays at 2pm.
